Pujie Black – Feature Wish List

Give and inch and we’ll take a mile… here are the features I’d like to see in future Pujie Black releases… in no particular order…

General

• Add Notifications shortcut (ie My Items\Notifications) to the long press home icon.
• Timezone picker is cumbersome to scroll through when sorted by name when you don’t know the major city you’re looking for (travelling to country and don’t know their timezone cities)… As a bare minimum, I’d like a second sort option, by offset (like version 3 drop-down lists). To avoid swiping, I’d also like keyword search included.

Preset Editor

• Major Layer group ordering: Analog Hands or indicators above foreground, tap actions behind custom elements, independent layering of hour, minute hands,
• Global Hue/Brightness/Saturation adjustment from preset.
• Alternative colour sets for Preset
• Additional switches on Analog Hands – Half-speed, modified start/end angles, modified centre.
• I know there is a clear tick on the data provider selected but still, similarly added Complications (with different data providers selected) are indistinguishable other then pressing the circle to figure out their data… ideally we need to see which data is selected… I know there is limited real estate but could the icon change or the text get added? Maybe the type could change to a prefix, eg. ST, I, RV, LT, SI or LI to give more real estate. Alternatively, provide a method to rename a custom item in the current “what would you like to do?” dialog.
• Expand Indicator Set with more bars and dials for time units, fitness goals, etc.
• Global ambient brightness… default at 100%… this avoids the need to make a shade for an otherwise same background used for interactive, just reduce the brightness and it is ready to go.
• Scale X and Scale Y on Custom elements at the preset level.

Watch Part Editor

• Manual Clear or Reset Fragment History (so I can control it and reduce preset/part file size)… maybe located in the right drop down menu under “Reset zoom”.
• Regarding what contributes to History, is it possible to exclude actions that don’t matter? eg. Collapse/Expand Group… even if this means a re-opened part is totally collapsed or expanded, I’m not sure that matters.
• Expand/Collapse all function in right drop down menu for layer groups.
• Second-based automation… so we can make Mickey Mouse’s foot tap or Cheshire Cat’s tail wag or eyes tick back and forth.
• Third tab in color dialog for colours from underlying preset… e.g. you’re using edit in place of a background and need the colour from a Live Text, you leave and have to come back.
• Colour picker (eye-dropper) for images… for colour matching purposes… currently take screenshot and use an external app for this.
• Custom image colour alpha… make selected colour alpha channel for a given image layer. This could be just like the Tint setting on a complication icon layer.
• Automation on Colour values (calculated HEX… or on RGBA/HSL value sliders)
• Rotation (other than 90 degree increments) at image import prior to cropping process.
• Extract/Export Image from Image Layer (so it could be refined if the source is lost… or you never had the source)
• Copy and Paste Style via Clipboard
• In conjunction with Preview, Time or Data Simulation – With the introduction of Live Text, we need to sometime simulate where something might be at a given time or based on the level of steps, currently we can replace the tag with a hard value or in the case of time, change phone time… it would be nice to simulate data on preview.
• Live Text layer update interval (e.g.. designer knows live text elements only update on the hour, thus they can adjust it accordingly)… telling app to render the component less often.
• Ability to set Automation on X-Y coordinates… ie, you could move a single vertex on a given shape/line.
• Shape Fill changed from off/on to percentage fill with angle (that can be automated)
• Shape Stroke changed from off/on to percentage drawn with 360 degrees to change starting point where it begins render… kinda like “show outer progress on indicators”, ie a shapes’ outer line displays based on the percentage from starting point.
• Add an opaque version of DRES’s overlay guide as an option on the Grid dialog… so you can see an opaque circle, the flat type and the upper bound of the power, etc icons.
• It would be nice to have a way of quickly clearing automation rather than having to open the automation, select all and press delete.

Tags

• Tag for whether the Preset has the 24 hour switch turned on or off in the Shared tab of the Preset: [is24hr]… Alternatively, a tag for the hour that has that switch applied [24hrp]
• Tag for Ambient on Live Text: isAmbient… used so designers can specify a different display behaviour in ambient… stroke rather than fill but still the same element.
• Full 24hr Time (hour:min) Tag for all three GMT Offsets.
• Full Day of Week label for all three GMT Offsets.
• 24hr Sunrise, Sunset time tags? Alternatively, to calculate (at least approximately), a tag for current Latitude from location? Using Latitude note that we then also know seasons.
• Moon Phase Tag.
• Tag for High/Low for day temperature.
• Tag for X/Y centre of the current layer… this may be helpful in some automation formulas.
• It also might be nice to (in future) tag a layer and using that tag be able to refer to its values… text, X/Y, visibility state, etc.
• Applied Size, Rotation, X, Y value… ie the values set in the Preset when it is applied. By default, the Size is 1, Rotation, X and Y are 0. Knowing this, the designer might conditionally change the Complication or the Live Text… eg. if it is applied and made smaller, the text components are hidden. Or, if the applies and rotates an element, the live text avoid the rotation of the sub-component.
• Common equations as tags… eg. 24 hour rotation value, minute rotation.
• Minutes from Midnight.

Cloud Library

• Rather than just prompt with “You cannot like your own items.”, it should show the owner that list of users who liked their item… with the ability to go to those designer’s profiles.
• Sorting missing from Favourites… I may want to sort by name, or likes or downloads or even designer.
• Swipe to browse next, previous in catalog… open an item, swipe sideways to go back and forth through the whole, or filtered, list or search results.
• Search by designer name… if I search the catalog by “DRES” I get all the times DRES is mentioned in the comments, not the presets by DRES…. of course, I can go to his profile but still.
• A warning or visual prompt in dialog on Save of Presets or Watch Parts that are already publicly shared.
• Allow others to create curated collections… even if it is select users… maybe if you share a certain number of presets then you get the ability to curate your own collection… thus an incentive to add more presets and watch parts… presets are worth 2 points and parts are worth 1 point… and you need to get to 150 points to get that ability.
• Notification Type Separation (Grouping or Filter) so as to isolate Comments from Likes and Follows…
• Comment Notification Retention – Custom Retention Period or No removal or manual removal – this is an issue if you’re not up-to-date… you won’t know what comments you’ve left unanswered… at present that would mean opening everything you’ve shared (over a hundred items) to see if there is a comment you didn’t see and should reply to… that’s not feasible.
• “Wear Sync” – Add Preset to a List or have a toggle in Cloud Library that represents those Presets that should always be pushed to all of your watches… thus avoiding the need to send individual faces after you factory reset or get a new watch… ‘cos otherwise, finding, sending and saving (eg. 30 Presets) is very time consuming.
• Move Syncronization to Notification area rather than in-app.
• If someone else is referenced in the comments with the @ symbol in comments (other than the person being replied to) then it should also highlight them and the matching person provided a notification regarding the reference.
• Multi-Select (including select all, invert selection, select from search results) ability on My Items… to bulk Make Private, Public or Delete.
• The current scroll position indicator is super-tiny… I’d like the addition of Scroll bar/handle when scrolling through catalog or my items… with 600 items in my list, it is annoying how many times I have to swipe to go up or down. Since the catalog is reaching a similar number, it is becoming difficult too.
• Now that the Cloud Library catalog is so big, it almost needs the dates on the date-based sorting to have twisties against them… so you can collapse them and navigate more easily through the growing list.
• Alternative naming cut-off for Thumbnails… when names are too long (not too many characters) it may be nicer to do “Link Sta..d (Cyan)” rather than “Link Stained S…” Or maybe the text could go up and smaller maybe then wrap in some of the white real estate above the icon.
• Force Offline switch in Cloud Settings… so that you don’t have to sign out or put the phone into airplane mode… eg. at my doctor’s surgery they have bad reception so only calls and SMS comes through but data is rubbish. It may even be presented as a switch in the new dropdown where Sign Out is located.
• Cloud Settings … by default Sync Selected… Also, Sync All… and with checkbox… sync all Presets, Watch Parts, Graphics.
• Wish that Saves on Cloud Library items would update the Recent date for the Preset Library so that these newly saved items would be at the top of the local list as well as my cloud list.
• Renaming a local item has never been easy… both cloud and non-cloud users require you to Edit a copy and delete the original. Rather than get a “Not available for local items” hint, cloud users could have it open with just the name field available for edit… that would make renaming easier. I guess cloud users have the option of syncing an item, renaming then un-syncing… but that creates a items that need to be invisibly tracked for sync removal.

Major Additions

• Global Preset formula/variable area… set values so that they are calculated once and referred to by automation… ie, no need to repeatedly calculate or set arc start or sweep… calculated multiple times in the arc settings, in the visibility automation and the associated text label elements, or GMT offset comparison.
• Alternate device compatibility… Tablets and Samsung DeX (https://developer.samsung.com/samsung-dex/modify-optimizing)… so users can use a larger format or in desktop mode without the small preview… potentially split down the middle with settings on right of preview.
• Import SVG or EPS files for vector import…
